Policybazaar has launched an emotional short film, Ashray, inspired by the true story of a young boy whose family found hope and support through health insurance during a medical crisis.

The film tells how Ashray suffered a life-changing accident while playing Holi. His father, Sunny Bhatia, faced mounting medical bills running into lakhs of rupees. Thanks to their health insurance policy, the family received crucial coverage, allowing Ashray to undergo world-class neuro-rehabilitation – a journey that continues even seven years later.

This release follows earlier criticism of the brand’s February 2025 term insurance ad, which some felt relied on emotional shock and reinforced gendered financial stereotypes. With Ashray, Policybazaar focuses on authentic storytelling, emphasizing the real-life impact of health coverage.
