Prime Video has expanded its marketplace of add-on streaming services in India with the launch of Moviesphere+, a premium subscription offering from global content company Lionsgate. The new service brings a curated library of Hollywood films, iconic series, and long-running franchises to Indian viewers. For the first three months, Moviesphere+ is available at an introductory annual price of ₹399, after which it will renew at ₹699 per year.
Moviesphere+ adds a wide range of titles to Prime Video’s catalogue, including films such as The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Borderlands, Prisoners, P.S. I Love You, The Princess Bride, and Jackie Brown. Popular television shows like Mad Men, Weeds, Black Sails, Anger Management, and the latest season of The Rookie are also part of the lineup.
Gaurav Bhasin, head of marketplace (add-on subscriptions & movie rentals) and Prime Video Ads, India, said the launch strengthens Prime Video’s role as a distribution platform for global content brands. “Prime Video’s add-on subscriptions have become a powerful launchpad for international streaming services and studios to reach audiences across India. With Moviesphere+, customers get even more choice and convenience under a single destination.”
The rollout of Moviesphere+ aligns with Amazon’s broader strategy of housing multiple video services within one interface. Add-on subscribers benefit from unified search, personalised recommendations, consolidated billing, and shared watchlists across providers. Prime Video currently aggregates more than 30 partner OTT platforms through this model, making it one of India’s largest streaming hubs.
With its mix of contemporary hits and fan-favourite classics, Moviesphere+ aims to deepen Prime Video’s Hollywood portfolio and offer Indian audiences a more diverse global entertainment experience.
