Razorpay & Sarvam AI Bet on Voice Commerce, Swiggy Joins Early Rollout

Razorpay has partnered with Sarvam AI to introduce a voice-first commerce layer, aiming to simplify digital transactions through conversational interactions. Moving beyond traditional app-based navigation, the collaboration enables users to discover products, place orders, and complete payments simply by speaking-especially in Indian languages.

At the core of this innovation is the integration of Sarvam AI’s models and agentic technology with Razorpay’s payments infrastructure. Together, they allow AI agents to understand user intent in real time and execute transactions seamlessly within a single conversation.

Swiggy is among the first platforms to pilot this feature. Through Sarvam’s Indus App, users can order food using voice commands instead of browsing menus manually. The rollout has already begun in phases, with plans to expand the capability across more platforms and businesses. A similar pilot is live on The Derma Co’s website, showcasing how voice-led shopping can work across categories.

The initiative will also integrate with Razorpay’s Agent Studio, enabling developers to build multilingual AI agents capable of handling customer interactions and transactions in languages like Hindi and Hinglish.

This move addresses a key gap in India’s digital ecosystem-while UPI adoption is widespread, e-commerce participation still faces barriers due to language and usability challenges. By making commerce more conversational and accessible, Razorpay and Sarvam AI are positioning voice as the next big interface for digital transactions in India.
