Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has acquired a 100% equity stake in Chennai-based Southern Health Foods, the company behind the health foods brand Manna, for a total cash consideration of ₹156.42 crore. The transaction was completed on February 9, 2026, following which Southern Health Foods has become a wholly owned subsidiary of RCPL, as per a regulatory filing.
Founded over two decades ago, Manna has built strong equity in the health and nutrition space, particularly in millet-based staples, mixes, beverages, and baby food products. The acquisition significantly bolsters RCPL’s foods and staples portfolio, which already includes brands such as Udhaiyam, Independence, and SiL. With Manna’s addition, Reliance strengthens its presence in the fast-growing health foods and traditional grains segment.
T. Krishnakumar, Director at RCPL, highlighted that Manna is among the most trusted health-focused brands in Tamil Nadu, with distribution extending to neighbouring southern states. He added that Reliance plans to scale the brand nationally by leveraging its extensive retail reach, supply chain infrastructure, and R&D capabilities.
The move aligns with RCPL’s broader strategy of building a diversified and future-ready foods platform-combining strong regional brands with national distribution. Demand for millet-based foods has been rising steadily, driven by increasing health awareness and government initiatives promoting traditional grains.
Southern Health Foods, incorporated in April 2012, reported a turnover of ₹109.40 crore in FY25, ₹127.37 crore in FY24, and ₹126.65 crore in FY23. Reliance clarified that the acquisition is not a related-party transaction and does not require any regulatory approvals.
