Reliance & Surrey Join Forces to Rebrand Oval Invincibles as MI London in The Hundred

Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited (RSBVL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has entered into a landmark partnership with Surrey County Cricket Club for joint ownership of The Hundred franchise, Oval Invincibles. Under the agreement, Surrey will hold 51% ownership, while RSBVL will take a 49% stake from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Beginning 2026, both the men’s and women’s teams will compete under a new identity – MI London.

Oval Invincibles have dominated The Hundred since its inception, winning five titles in five seasons. The women’s team clinched the first two championships, while the men’s side secured three consecutive titles between 2023 and 2025. The squad’s success has been shaped by Surrey’s homegrown stars including Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Will Jacks, and Alice Capsey, alongside global talent such as Rashid Khan, Adam Zampa, and Marizanne Kapp.

With this move, Mumbai Indians — one of the most successful global cricket franchises – expands its footprint further. The MI ecosystem now includes seven teams across five countries and four continents, reinforcing its long-term vision to develop talent and expand cricket’s global reach.

Over the past 17 years, MI teams have collectively won 13 major titles worldwide, including five IPL trophies, two Women’s Premier League titles, and championships across ILT20, SA20, Major League Cricket, and the Champions League.

Nita M. Ambani and Akash Ambani expressed their excitement for this next chapter, while Surrey Chair Oli Slipper confirmed confidence in the shared future and growth potential of MI London.
