Saurabh Dwivedi Steps Away from Lallantop After 12 Years with India Today Group

Journalist Saurabh Dwivedi has exited India Today Group Digital, bringing to a close a 12-year-long association with the organization. Dwivedi was the founding editor of Lallantop and was also closely associated with India Today Hindi, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the group’s digital journalism footprint.

Dwivedi announced his departure through a post on X, sharing that he plans to take a break before charting his next professional chapter. In his message, he thanked Lallantop for giving him identity, learning, and courage, adding that he intends to introspect and take a leisure break before deciding on the way forward.

Reacting to the announcement, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai acknowledged Dwivedi’s contribution to the platform and his popular political show. Calling Neta Nagri a special programme, Sardesai described Lallantop as a trendsetter and expressed hope that their professional paths would cross again.

Dwivedi joined the India Today Group as a features editor at aajtak.in under the Mediaplex initiative. Over the years, he emerged as one of the group’s most influential editorial leaders in the digital space. As founding editor, he was instrumental in defining Lallantop’s content strategy, tone, and audience engagement, helping the platform carve a distinct identity in Hindi digital journalism.

Under his leadership, Lallantop grew into a widely recognised digital-first news brand, known for its conversational style and strong connect with younger audiences. Dwivedi’s exit marks the end of a significant chapter for the platform, even as his next move remains keenly watched within the media industry.
