Senior journalist Aditya Raj Kaul has stepped down from TV9 Network after an impactful three-and-a-half-year tenure as Senior Executive Editor for Corporate, National Security, and Strategic Affairs.
During his time with TV9 Network, Kaul played a pivotal role in shaping editorial content and narrative, particularly around national security and strategic affairs. He spearheaded the creation of over 70 documentaries for TV9 and its OTT platform, News9Plus-many of which received critical acclaim. His work earned more than 20 national and international awards.
Among his honors are the prestigious Red Ink Special Mention Award by the Mumbai Press Club and the Ram Jethmalani Journalism Prize, awarded by The Sunday Guardian Foundation and the Jethmalani Family. The latter carries a gold medallion and a cash prize of ₹14 lakh. In 2024.
Kaul also led the conceptualization and launch of the NEWS9 Global Summits, a flagship initiative of TV9 Network. These high-profile summits were held across India, Germany, and the UAE, and featured global dignitaries including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi, David Cameron, and Tony Abbott, as well as prominent ministers such as Dr. S. Jaishankar, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Abdullah Shahid, and Mariya Didi.
Though Kaul has yet to officially announce his next move, sources indicate he is poised to take up a senior editorial leadership position at a leading television news network. He is expected to assume the new role in September.
In a statement to exchange4media, Kaul confirmed his exit and expressed gratitude to Barun Das, MD & CEO of TV9 Network, and Ramu Rao Jupally, Vice Chairman of My Home Group, for their trust and support during his tenure.
Recognized as one of India’s most authoritative voices in national security, foreign policy, and conflict reporting, Kaul is also widely respected for his expertise on Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan affairs. He was among the first journalists to break the details of the Pahalgam Terror Attack and the launch of Operation Sindoor-reporting that gained significant traction across Indian and international media for its accuracy and depth.
