Shailesh Chandra has been appointed as MD & CEO of Tata Motors for a three-year term

Tata Motors Ltd has announced key leadership changes effective October 1, 2025. Shailesh Chandra, currently heading Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, has been appointed as MD & CEO of Tata Motors for a three-year term, while continuing in his present role. Group CFO P B Balaji will step down on November 17 to become CEO of Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, with Dhiman Gupta succeeding him as CFO & KMP. Girish Wagh has resigned as Executive Director and will move to TMLCV as MD & CEO. Additionally, Independent Directors Hanne Sorensen, Kosaraju Veerayya Chowdary, and Guenter Karl Butschek will step down from Tata Motors’ Board, with new roles aligned to the upcoming demerger.
