Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a multi-year exclusive media partnership with the DP World Tour, acquiring television and digital broadcast rights for three seasons from 2026 to 2028. The association marks a significant step in expanding professional golf’s footprint across the Indian subcontinent, reinforcing SPNI’s long-term commitment to premium global sports content.
Under the agreement, SPNI will broadcast DP World Tour tournaments across India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The 2026 global calendar spans over 20 countries and includes five prestigious Rolex Series events, offering viewers access to top-tier international competition. Coverage begins with the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, set to be live streamed on Sony LIV from January 22.
The partnership also places a strong spotlight on India’s growing presence in the global golf ecosystem. Two major tournaments hosted on Indian soil-the Hero Indian Open 2026 (March 26–29) and the DP World India Championship (October 15 –18)-will be key highlights of the season. These events are expected to showcase elite international players alongside Indian talent, positioning the country as an important destination on the global golf calendar.
Through Sony LIV’s expansive digital coverage and Sony Sports Network’s television reach, fans will gain a more immersive and consistent viewing experience across multiple touchpoints. The focus will be on continuity, storytelling and deeper engagement rather than standalone event-based viewing.
According to SPNI leadership, the partnership reflects a strategic effort to build golf’s ecosystem in the region by combining scale, accessibility and premium presentation. From the DP World Tour’s perspective, the agreement strengthens its long-standing relationship with India, a market that continues to grow in relevance due to rising viewership and the increasing prominence of Indian-hosted tournaments.
Together, the collaboration aims to deliver world-class professional golf to South Asian audiences with greater depth, visibility and consistency over the next three years.
