Domestic subscription revenue climbs to ₹470.12 crore, while overall revenue sees modest YoY decline
New Delhi: Sun TV Network reported a 1.77% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated revenue for Q1 FY26, coming in at ₹1,290.28 crore compared to ₹1,313.55 crore in the same quarter last year. However, revenue witnessed a strong 37% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rebound from ₹941.99 crore in Q4 FY25.
The broadcaster’s Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at ₹529.10 crore, down 5.4% YoY from ₹559.32 crore. On a QoQ basis, PAT surged 42.7%, recovering from the ₹55.8 crore exceptional loss recorded in the previous quarter.
EBITDA for Q1 FY26 came in at ₹619 crore, reflecting a 14% YoY decline from ₹719 crore in Q1 FY25.
On the advertising front, Sun TV reported a sharp drop in revenue. Ad revenue declined 11.3% YoY to ₹289.94 crore, down from ₹323.77 crore in the year-ago quarter.
In contrast, domestic subscription revenue saw healthy growth, rising to ₹470.12 crore, up from ₹425.79 crore in Q1 FY25, indicating continued strength in the company’s core pay-TV business.
In a strategic move to expand its global sports footprint, Sun TV recently acquired 100% ownership of UK-based Northern Superchargers-a cricket franchise for GBP 100.5 million, bolstering its presence in international sports and media.
