Times Prime Teams Up with Crunchyroll to Expand Anime Streaming Access in India

Times Prime has partnered with Crunchyroll to bring premium anime streaming to its members in India, strengthening its entertainment portfolio amid the country’s growing appetite for anime content.

As part of the collaboration, Times Prime members who opt for an annual Crunchyroll subscription will receive a two-month free trial. The offering unlocks access to Crunchyroll’s extensive anime catalogue spanning multiple genres, with features such as ad-free streaming, simulcasts of new episodes shortly after their Japanese broadcast, and flexible language options. Viewers can choose between original Japanese audio with subtitles or dubbed versions, catering to both purist fans and new audiences.

The partnership comes at a time when anime viewership in India is witnessing rapid growth. Crunchyroll currently offers over 900 anime titles in the country, including more than 160 shows dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, making the content more accessible to regional audiences. Annual subscriptions for Crunchyroll in India start at Rs 469, positioning it as an affordable entry point for anime enthusiasts.

Commenting on the collaboration, Harshita Singh, business head at Times Prime, highlighted that today’s entertainment landscape is shaped by personalisation, quality, and accessibility. She noted that the partnership enables Times Prime to respond to rising anime demand while broadening the depth of its entertainment offerings.
