ixigo, EaseMyTrip, and Cox & Kings halt bookings in response to foreign criticism of Operation Sindoor
In a strong show of solidarity with India, travel companies ixigo, EaseMyTrip, and Cox & Kings have suspended flight and hotel bookings for Turkey, China, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. The decision follows diplomatic backlash from Turkey and Azerbaijan, who publicly criticized India’s Operation Sindoor and aligned with Pakistan’s claims that the operation impacted civilian areas.
Taking to social media platform X, ixigo announced the suspension of bookings, emphasizing its stance with a bold message:
“In solidarity with our nation, ixigo is suspending flight and hotel bookings for Turkey, Azerbaijan, and China. Because, when it comes to Bharat, we don’t think twice. Jai Hind.”
Aloke Bajpai, Managing Director and Group CEO of ixigo, reinforced the message with a personal post:
“Enough is enough! Blood and bookings won’t flow together. We are suspending all flight and hotel bookings for Turkey, China, and Azerbaijan on ixigo.”
EaseMyTrip also issued a travel advisory on X, cautioning Indian citizens against non-essential travel to Turkey and Pakistan. Their statement read:
“As Turkey and Azerbaijan have shown support for Pakistan, we strongly recommend visiting these countries only if absolutely necessary.”
Meanwhile, Cox & Kings has taken similar action, halting all travel offerings to the four countries amid escalating regional tensions.
The unified stance by these travel platforms reflects growing concern and public sentiment surrounding the geopolitical developments. As Indo-Pak tensions continue to rise, Indian businesses across sectors are showing their alignment with national interests, putting patriotism ahead of profits.
