India’s digital ecosystem is entering a trust-first era, driven by identity verification and intentional engagement. According to the State of Urban Attention 2025 report by Truecaller and VTION, over 400 million urban smartphone users are shifting from random browsing to purpose-driven digital actions.
With 310 million active users in India, Truecaller reports some of the highest user intent in the mobile space. Users open the app 20+ times daily, mainly to verify identities, assess safety, and make informed decisions. This behaviour forms what the report calls “verified attention”-engagement that is active, selective, and conscious rather than accidental.
Key demographic insights show that:
47% belong to NCCS A
80% are aged 25+
Users are spread evenly across Metros to Tier 3 cities
This premium audience gives brands a 26–38% incremental verified reach, reducing repetitive exposure across entertainment-led platforms.
Lifestyle behaviour data shows higher digital action across categories:
- Travel: 145
- Food: 145
- Fashion: 142
- Banking: 138
- Q-Commerce: 143
These users are 1.3–1.4X more likely to transact instantly, make financial decisions, or purchase within moments of verified clarity.
Brand studies highlight strong impact in trust-based spaces:
- AMFI: 72% confidence lift
- Uber Shuttle: 9X reliability association
- Godrej: 18% increase in trust among women
The report concludes that India’s digital economy is being rebuilt around identity, credibility, and safety-and platforms rooted in verification now drive meaningful engagement and conversion-ready attention.
