Uber has expanded its Intercity service to over 3,000 routes across India, with plans to hit 4,500 by 2026. This move marks a 50% increase in city-to-city coverage and highlights the platform’s growing dominance in both intra- and intercity travel.
To celebrate the expansion, Uber has introduced a limited-time offering: Uber Motorhome. Available from August 7 to September 6, the premium caravan experience will launch from Delhi-NCR, offering a comfort-first travel option for weekend getaways and special occasions. Bookings open August 4 via a dedicated icon on the Uber app.
The Motorhome features lounge-style interiors with seating for 4–5 riders and amenities like a television, lavatory, microwave, and mini-fridge. Each ride comes with a driver and helper, along with core Intercity features such as advance booking, multiple stops, real-time tracking, and 24×7 live support.
Shweta Mantri, Head of Rider Verticals, Uber India & South Asia, said, “More people are hitting the road for leisure and business. With Intercity and Motorhome, we’re making outstation travel easier and more comfortable for millions.”
The most popular intercity routes in the last year include Mumbai–Pune, Delhi–Agra, Bangalore–Mysore, Lucknow–Kanpur, and Ahmedabad–Vadodara. Travel spikes during holidays, weddings, and long weekends, especially on Fridays. While round trips cater to leisure and events, one-way bookings often serve family visits and airport connections.
With Uber Motorhome, the brand is looking to redefine road travel-offering a blend of convenience, luxury, and flexibility.
