Urban Company’s Latest Campaign ‘Chhote Sapne?’ Reframes Service Professionals as Entrepreneurs

Fifth film in the ‘Dignity of Labour’ series challenges societal perceptions of entrepreneurship and class.

Urban Company, in collaboration with Talented and Superfly Films, has released its fifth film under the powerful ‘Dignity of Labour’ series, titled ‘Chhote Sapne?’. The film shines a spotlight on the entrepreneurial spirit of Urban Company’s service professionals – individuals who, despite building thriving careers with skill and dedication, are rarely recognised as entrepreneurs.

Redefining the Face of Entrepreneurship

In a society where entrepreneurship is often associated with LinkedIn profiles, jargon-filled pitch decks, and startup culture, ‘Chhote Sapne?’ asks a critical question: What really makes someone an entrepreneur?

The narrative captures a subtle moment of social bias – where a customer unknowingly undermines an Urban Company professional’s work – only to realise that she’s running her own enterprise, powered by her skills, resilience, and ambition. The film beautifully reframes her daily hustle as entrepreneurial grit, challenging viewers to rethink outdated stereotypes.

A Quiet but Powerful Commentary on Class and Privilege

“With this film, we wanted to shift the lens towards the unconscious biases many of us carry,” said Tanima Kohli, Creative at Talented.
“By contrasting the UC Pro’s tool kit – packed with skill, survival, and ambition – against the typical white-collar laptop bag, we highlight the stark class divide. The film invites audiences to see service professionals not as ‘help’, but as individuals with dreams, drive, and dignity.”

Entrepreneurship Without the Labels

Kartik Ahuja, Sr. Manager – Brand, Urban Company, explained:
“In India, entrepreneurship is often reserved for the urban, English-speaking, and well-networked. But true entrepreneurial spirit is universal. It’s about waking up early, learning something new, and building a better future – one client at a time.”
“Many of our women professionals earn up to 3x more than their offline counterparts, and in some cases, more than their spouses. In fact, some husbands are now stepping back to support their wives’ careers. That’s a powerful economic and cultural shift.”

A Human Story Told with Honesty

Kopal Naithani, Founder and Director, Superfly Films, shared her perspective:
“What pulled me into this story was its quiet truth – how even a casual question can expose the invisible lines we draw between ‘us’ and ‘them’. Behind every uniform is a story of hope, struggle, and strength. This film isn’t about conflict; it’s about empathy and shared humanity.”

Continuing the Journey of Respect and Recognition

‘Chhote Sapne?’ continues the conversation started with ‘Chhota Kaam’, the inaugural film in the Dignity of Labourseries. Each instalment has explored powerful social themes – from gender equality to social prejudice – always with a focus on reshaping how we view work and those who do it.

With this latest chapter, Urban Company elevates its mission further – challenging the narrow definition of entrepreneurship and inviting viewers to recognise the extraordinary spirit behind every so-called “small job”.
