Bennett Coleman and Company Limited (BCCL), the parent company of The Times of India, has announced the appointment of Vikas Purohit as CEO of New Business Ventures. In this strategic role, Purohit will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing new business opportunities for the media conglomerate.
His mandate includes conceptualizing high-potential venture ideas, creating comprehensive business plans, and leading execution efforts to build scalable and profitable new business streams for the organization.
Purohit joins BCCL after serving as Director and Head of the Small Business Group (SBG) at Meta India, where he led initiatives supporting over 10 million small businesses across the country. His extensive leadership experience includes serving as CEO of Tata Unistore and holding key positions at Amazon Fashion, Reliance Brands, and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail.
An alumnus of prestigious institutions, Purohit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT BHU and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IIM Bangalore. His diverse background across retail, e-commerce, and digital platforms positions him well to drive innovation at one of India’s largest media organizations.
