Big exit alert! Vishal Chinchankar has stepped down from his role as CEO of Madison Digital and Alpha, sources close to the development confirmed to Viral Vault. His departure comes at a time when Madison World is reportedly gearing up for a major ownership shake-up.
Chinchankar, a veteran of the media and digital space, began his journey at The Indian Express before moving into managerial roles at Investment Research & Information Services and Mediaturf Worldwide. He later took on leadership positions at Mindshare Interaction, handling operations across India and Singapore.
He made waves in the digital space during his stint at Reliance Digital TV as VP – Digital Media & Head of VAS for DTH, working across sectors like finance, telecom, and entertainment. His leadership résumé includes top roles such as CEO of WPP’s martech agency Prodigi and Digital Head at MEC India.
His resignation comes as Madison World is reportedly in advanced talks to sell a 70% stake, with global networks and private equity players in the fray. Industry chatter suggests names like Accenture and Stagwell Inc. have surfaced, with a potential valuation touching ₹1,000 crore.
And there’s more shaking up the Madison universe.
In a major account move, McDonald’s India (South and West) ended its 20-year-long partnership with Madison, shifting its media duties to Starcom India. Just a few months earlier, Essencemediacom snapped up the media mandate for Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), after a competitive four-month pitch. The transition, effective April 2025, covers GCPL’s full-stack media operations – from strategy and planning to buying and execution across platforms.
With leadership exits, marquee account losses, and a big-ticket deal on the table, Madison World is clearly in the middle of a high-stakes transformation.
