Yamaha Music India Pvt. Ltd. has announced the appointment of A. R. Rahman as its brand ambassador, marking a strategic move to strengthen its connection with India’s evolving music ecosystem. The collaboration aims to promote structured music education while nurturing emerging talent across the country.
Rahman, an Academy Award-winning composer known for taking Indian music to global audiences, aligns closely with Yamaha’s vision of empowering musicians and expanding India’s presence on the global music stage.
Yamamoto Taketoshi, Managing Director of Yamaha Music India, highlighted that music lies at the core of the company’s philosophy. He emphasised that India’s rich musical heritage holds immense global potential, and through the ‘Made in India’ initiative alongside Rahman’s association, Yamaha aims to inspire the next generation of artists.
Ryoji Maruyama, Sales Unit Head, added that Yamaha’s mission goes beyond manufacturing instruments. The company is actively working to build music communities through workshops, school collaborations, and rural outreach programs, making music more accessible to aspiring artists across diverse regions.
Speaking on the partnership, Rahman expressed pride in associating with a brand known for precision and musical excellence. He noted that Yamaha’s initiatives are already supporting young talent through platforms like his KM Music Conservatory and The Sunshine Orchestra.
