YouTube generated more than $60 billion in total revenue in 2025, Alphabet has revealed, marking the first time the video platform’s full-year revenue has been disclosed as a standalone figure. The milestone, announced during Alphabet’s Q4 2025 earnings release on February 4, 2026, highlights YouTube’s growing scale across both advertising and subscription-led income streams.
The revenue figure, which includes advertising as well as subscriptions from services such as YouTube Premium and YouTube TV, places YouTube ahead of streaming leader Netflix, which reported $45.18 billion in revenue for the same period. The comparison underscores YouTube’s evolution from a free, user-generated video platform into a dominant global media and entertainment business.
In the fourth quarter alone, YouTube’s advertising revenue reached $11.38 billion, reflecting an 8.7% year-on-year increase. Alphabet attributed this growth to strong demand for direct-response advertising, continued expansion of YouTube Shorts, and steady adoption of paid subscription offerings.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted YouTube’s momentum during the earnings call, noting that the platform now contributes significantly to Alphabet’s diversified revenue base. He also revealed that Alphabet has crossed 325 million paid subscriptions across its consumer services, led by YouTube Premium and Google One.
Viewer engagement on YouTube continues to deepen, particularly on connected TVs. Pichai shared that audiences watched more than 700 million hours of podcasts on YouTube via television screens in October 2025 alone. Additionally, the NFL’s Sunday Ticket offering on YouTube recorded its highest-ever paid subscriber numbers.
The disclosure reinforces YouTube’s transformation into one of the world’s most influential and commercially powerful media platforms.
