Zee Strengthens Syndication Play with 350+ Channel MCN, New Formats and Global Expansion

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd has significantly scaled up its syndication business, reinforcing its strategy to unlock incremental value from its vast content library across digital platforms and international markets.

A key pillar of this expansion is the acquisition of a Multi-Channel Network (MCN) license, under which Zee has onboarded more than 350 channels into its syndication ecosystem. This move enables the company to manage, distribute, and monetize content at scale across leading digital platforms, strengthening its presence in the rapidly growing creator economy and short-form video space.

To align with evolving viewing habits, Zee has also partnered to adapt its content into new-age formats. Notably, it has collaborated with Story TV to reimagine select titles from its library into vertical, short-duration episodes designed for mobile-first audiences. These micro-dramas reflect the rising demand for snackable, immersive storytelling optimised for smartphones.

The syndication vertical is further extending Zee’s global footprint through foreign-language dubbing and regional partnerships across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. This enables the monetisation of Indian content among diverse international audiences while increasing the reach of its intellectual property beyond traditional markets.

In addition, Zee has begun monetising its library across audio platforms. Legacy IPs such as Zee Horror Show are being adapted into audio formats, with several more titles currently in development, highlighting growing interest in audio-first storytelling.

The company is also monetising non-exclusive digital rights for its film library and converting select shows and movies from horizontal to vertical formats to improve discoverability on short-form platforms.

Commenting on the expansion, Vinod Johri, Business Head – Syndication, said the strategy allows content to travel further, adapt faster, and monetise smarter. Collectively, these initiatives underscore Zee’s push towards platform-agnostic, future-ready content monetisation.
