Zomato has introduced a touching new campaign to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, encouraging customers to show gratitude to hearing-impaired delivery partners using sign language. The initiative is supported by a short, emotional film that highlights the dedication, resilience, and everyday experiences of these partners while reminding viewers that a small gesture can create a meaningful impact.

The story follows Rakesh, one of over 1,000 hearing and speech-impaired delivery partners working with Zomato. The film captures his daily routine-riding through busy streets, handling deliveries, and navigating silent challenges. While many customers express appreciation verbally, the disconnect between those words and his ability to receive them remains unspoken. The narrative builds toward a powerful moment when a young customer thanks him using sign language-something made possible through a new tutorial feature added to the Zomato app.

Commenting on the initiative, Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Chief Sustainability Officer, Eternal, said that the campaign aims to recognize and empower PwD delivery partners while fostering empathy among users. She emphasized that even small gestures can create a sense of belonging and acknowledgment.

The effort aligns with Zomato’s broader commitment to creating accessible and dignified livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities. The company continues to support delivery partners with locomotor, speech, and hearing impairments through specialized training, technology enhancements, increased earning potential, and dedicated support channels.

As of October 2025, Zomato has onboarded 5,000+ PwD delivery partners, including 1,000+ with hearing and speech impairments, reinforcing the brand’s mission of building a more inclusive and compassionate delivery ecosystem.
