Meta and JioHotstar Join Forces with Special Ops 2.0 to Spotlight Online Scam Awareness

Meta has teamed up with JioHotstar to launch a new awareness campaign that leverages the popular espionage series Special Ops 2.0 to educate viewers about the growing threat of online scams-particularly “digital arrest” frauds.

The campaign video features acclaimed actor Kay Kay Menon reprising his role as Himmat Singh, though this time, the mission is far more grounded in reality. Instead of chasing spies, Singh steps in to foil a scam attempt on a crew member who receives a suspicious video call from someone posing as law enforcement, threatening arrest. Drawing from real-life scam scenarios, the video turns a tense moment into an informative and engaging lesson on identifying and stopping online fraud.

The campaign smartly weaves in WhatsApp’s privacy and safety tools-like silencing unknown callers, blocking and reporting suspicious accounts, and managing personal interaction settings-to empower users to protect themselves.

This collaboration is part of Meta’s ongoing digital safety efforts in India and taps into the power of entertainment to drive meaningful awareness. By blending fiction with real-world threats, the initiative aims to deliver a sharp and memorable message about cybersecurity, especially for audiences who may be vulnerable to digital deception.

The film is live on JioHotstar’s social platforms, further extending its reach among digitally active viewers.
