SuperK Raises ₹100 Crore to Revolutionize Grocery Retail in Small-Town India

In a major push towards redefining value retail in India’s heartland, SuperK has secured ₹100 crore in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Binny Bansal’s 3STATE Ventures and CaratLane founder Mithun Sacheti, with participation from Indian cricket star Shubman Gill and existing investors Blume Ventures and Xeed Ventures.

Founded in 2020 by Anil Thontepu and Neeraj Menta, SuperK operates a tech-driven, franchise-led grocery chain targeting India’s tier-2 and tier-3 towns. The company currently runs 130 stores across 80 towns in Andhra Pradesh and plans to scale up to 300 more towns across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka using the new capital.

India’s grocery market, pegged at $600 billion, sees over 80% of its demand coming from smaller towns. Yet, less than 5% of this market is served by organized retail. SuperK is aiming to bridge this massive gap through a “Costco-style” model tailored for Bharat-offering value pricing, tech-backed operations, and local ownership.

“Over the last year, we quietly rebuilt our retail engine-from creating our own POS and retail OS to launching a flagship membership program that now drives 75% of our sales,” said cofounder Anil Thontepu. “This round gives us the fuel to go deeper and faster into underserved towns.”

SuperK’s tech stack includes a proprietary POS system, a retail operating system, a consumer shopping app, and a partner app to streamline store-level operations. This vertically integrated tech approach empowers franchise owners and ensures a consistent customer experience.

Commenting on the investment, Binny Bansal said, “SuperK is well-positioned to transform retail in deeper Bharat by empowering local entrepreneurs to run organized, tech-enabled supermarkets. We’re excited to support their vision of upgrading grocery shopping in small-town India.”

With a blend of local insights, scalable tech, and a franchise-first mindset, SuperK is on track to become a category-defining brand in value retail-where trust, affordability, and convenience are non-negotiables.
