New protection plan replaces Preferred Care and Fi Device Protection in the U.S., offers unlimited claims, priority support, and genuine Google parts.
Pixel Care+ Offers Industry-Leading Device Coverage
Google has introduced Pixel Care+, its new flagship device protection program designed for Pixel phones and other Made by Google hardware. Replacing the existing Preferred Care and Fi Device Protection in the U.S., the new plan promises users a streamlined and more valuable support experience.
According to Google’s official blog, Pixel Care+ includes:
- $0 deductibles for common repairs like screen and battery replacements
- Unlimited claims for both accidental and mechanical damage
- Extended warranty coverage
- Free post-warranty malfunction repairs
- Genuine Google parts
- Priority access to support from Pixel Experts
Simplified Claims and Enhanced Support
Developed in partnership with Asurion, the plan introduces self-service features through the Google Store and the new My Pixel App. Customers can schedule repairs or request replacements directly, with upgraded next-day shipping for faster service. An optional add-on for loss and theft protection is also available.
Pixel Care+ is now available in the U.S. for newly purchased eligible devices. Users have up to 60 days after purchaseto enroll, regardless of where the device was bought.
Broader Pixel Strategy: AI and Global Expansion
This announcement follows the recent launch of the Pixel 10 series, Google’s latest line of AI-powered smartphones. Introduced at the “Made by Google” event, the devices feature the upgraded Tensor G5 processor and integrate Google’s latest Gemini Nano AI model.
Among the key AI enhancements is Gemini Live, which has reportedly led to a fivefold increase in conversation length on Pixel devices since its debut in the Pixel 9 series.
Google Expands Pixel Presence in India
Alongside its hardware announcements, Google has also opened its first-ever direct-to-consumer Pixel Store outside the U.S., located in India. The move signals a deeper commitment to the country’s premium smartphone market and a broader push into digital retail.
Additionally, Google is said to be accelerating plans to shift part of its Pixel production to India, amid growing global tariff tensions and the drive for diversified supply chains.
