Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is gearing up for an ambitious growth phase with plans to strengthen its domestic service network and expand its global footprint through electric vehicle (EV) exports.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, projected mid-to-high teens growth in FY26, supported by a 15–20% expansion in Mahindra’s service footprint.
Global Push: EV Exports to the UK
A key part of this strategy is Mahindra’s entry into the UK market within 18–24 months, where it will export EVs and SUVs built on its NU_IQ modular, multi-energy platform. Production will be anchored at the company’s Chakan facility, which has an annual capacity of 1.2 lakh units.
The NU_IQ platform – unveiled on Independence Day as part of Mahindra’s Global Vision 2027 – will power next-generation SUVs based on four design concepts: Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X. These vehicles, designed in Mumbai and Banbury, UK, are expected to go into production starting 2027 and will cater to both left-hand and right-hand drive markets.
Domestic Readiness & Festive Season Planning
On the home front, Mahindra is navigating a temporary pause in wholesale dispatches due to cess-related regulatory issues. Gollagunta confirmed that supplies to dealers will resume after September 22, ensuring adequate availability for the Navratri festive season.
The automaker has also secured rare earth magnet requirements for Q2 and Q3 of FY26, a crucial step in de-risking its EV supply chain as adoption ramps up globally.
With a strong product pipeline, expanded service network, and global market entry, Mahindra is positioning itself to achieve sustained double-digit growth and reinforce its leadership in India’s fast-evolving SUV and EV market.
