Amul, India’s largest dairy brand, has announced a sweeping price reduction across more than 700 products to pass on the full benefit of the recent GST cut. The revised prices will take effect starting September 22, 2025.
The new price list covers a wide portfolio including butter, ghee, UHT milk, ice cream, cheese, paneer, chocolates, and other dairy staples. A 100-gram pack of Amul Butter will now retail at ₹58 (down from ₹62), while a litre of Amul Ghee and UHT milk will cost ₹610 and ₹75 respectively, compared to ₹650 and ₹77 earlier.
Amul expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, acknowledging the government’s move to make nutrition more accessible and affordable.
As a farmer-owned cooperative with 36 lakh members, Amul emphasized that the GST reduction will not only make dairy products more affordable but also increase the share of consumer revenue flowing back to producers – supporting farmers’ livelihoods while encouraging higher consumption of dairy products such as butter, cheese, and ice cream, where India’s per capita consumption remains relatively low.
The brand has already communicated the new prices to its trade network, including distributors, retailers, and Amul Parlours across India, ensuring seamless implementation.
This move aligns with similar price rollbacks by other FMCG majors like Hindustan Unilever and L’Oréal, who have also passed on GST benefits to consumers, reinforcing a broader trend of making essential products more affordable.
With this initiative, Amul continues to stay true to its promise of delivering quality, trust, and value, while contributing to both consumer welfare and farmer prosperity.
