Avinash Kaul has stepped down from his position as CEO of Network18 (Broadcast) and Managing Director of A+E Networks, concluding a nearly 12-year association with the Network18 group. Sources within Network18 have confirmed the development to Viral Vault, indicating that Kaul is set to move on from the organisation. An official statement from the company is awaited.
Kaul’s exit marks the end of a significant chapter in Network18 Media’s broadcast journey. With over 26 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, he is widely regarded as a strategic leader who played a key role in shaping the network’s broadcast roadmap, strengthening operational performance, and steering the business through a rapidly evolving television and digital ecosystem.
In August last year, Kaul’s mandate was expanded to include direct revenue growth across television, digital, and print platforms, in addition to overseeing ratings performance and the operational verticals of both the TV and print businesses. During his tenure, he reported to Rahul Joshi and was instrumental in aligning content, distribution, and commercial priorities.
Before joining Network18, Kaul served as CEO of the television division at Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited (BCCL). His earlier career also includes leadership roles at Sahara One and NDTV, where he contributed to programming strategy and channel expansion during key phases of India’s broadcast evolution.
Kaul’s contributions have been recognized across the industry, respected for his calm leadership style, editorial sensibility, and strong business acumen, Kaul’s next professional move will be closely watched by the media industry.
