Zee Entertainment UK has expanded its European footprint with the launch of its flagship Hindi general entertainment channel, Zee TV, as a live FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channel on Samsung TV Plus across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The launch marks Zee TV’s first availability in the region with 24/7 German subtitles, enabling wider access beyond South Asian audiences. Alongside dramas, reality shows and family entertainment, the subtitled format is designed to appeal to German-speaking viewers, including second- and third-generation audiences seeking culturally rooted content without language barriers.
This addition strengthens Zee’s existing presence in Europe, where it already operates channels such as Zee One and the streaming platform Zee5. By entering the FAST ecosystem via Samsung TV Plus, Zee continues to adapt its distribution strategy to evolving viewing habits, prioritising accessibility and free, ad-supported models.
Samsung TV Plus offers live and on-demand content at no cost across Samsung Smart TVs, Galaxy devices and Smart Monitors, making it a key platform for broadcasters looking to reach cord-cutters and digitally native audiences.
Commenting on the launch, Amit Goenka, president, International and Digital Businesses, Zee Entertainment, described the move as a milestone in Zee’s global expansion. He said the availability of Zee TV with live German subtitles reflects the company’s commitment to breaking language barriers and building cultural connections through technology-driven distribution.
Benedict Frey, country lead DACH + BeNeLux at Samsung TV Plus, said the launch strengthens the platform’s South Asian content offering while making it more inclusive for diverse audiences across the region.
Zee TV is now available to viewers in Germany on Samsung TV Plus on channel number 4210. With this addition, Zee expands its European portfolio to nine television offerings across linear and FAST platforms, reinforcing its ambition to deliver borderless entertainment to global audiences.
