Kappa CULTR will kick off its 2026 edition with a pre-party in Kochi on February 7 at Hotel Casino, Wellington Island. The event serves as a curtain-raiser to the main festival, scheduled from February 20 to 22 at Bolgatty, Kochi.
The pre-party will spotlight electronic and underground dance music, featuring performances by Ash Roy, DJ Dawn and Klanganoid. The evening begins at 5 pm and forms part of the larger CULTR 2026 initiative by the Mathrubhumi Group.
Ash Roy, a prominent name in India’s underground electronic music circuit, will headline the event. Known for his minimal techno and techno-driven sets, Roy has performed at venues across India and internationally.
Joining him is DJ Dawn, a Kochi-born, Bengaluru-based artist recognised for his minimal techno sound. He is also co-founder of Off the Moon Records, a platform supporting emerging talent in the electronic music space.
Klanganoid (Manu), an electronic producer with a background in sound engineering, completes the line-up. His performances are characterised by layered, immersive compositions, and he has previously played at multiple venues in Kochi.
Mayura Shreyams Kumar, Festival Founder and Director, Digital Business, Mathrubhumi Group, said the pre-party sets the tone for bringing world-class electronic music experiences to Kerala. Devika Shreyams Kumar, Festival Founder and Director – Operations, added that the event offers a preview of the larger festival’s music and atmosphere.
The pre-party marks the official beginning of Kappa CULTR 2026 celebrations in the city.
