The contest brings together an acclaimed jury of filmmakers including Anurag Kashyap, Ravi Jadhav, Srijit Mukherji, Nag Ashwin, Samuthirakani, Lijo Jose Pellissery and Hemanth Rao. The panel will mentor participants and evaluate shortlisted entries, offering both guidance and industry exposure.

Positioned as an open access opportunity, the contest invites aspiring storytellers to submit original short films and gain visibility within Zee’s expansive content ecosystem spanning digital, television and theatrical platforms. Selected filmmakers will receive recognition, cash awards and potential collaboration opportunities.

Kartik Mahadev, Chief Marketing Officer, ZEE & ZEE5, said the initiative aims to bridge gaps in access and visibility for regional talent by institutionalising opportunity at a national scale. He described the contest as a strategic step toward strengthening India’s creative pipeline and empowering the next generation of cinematic voices.

The participating jury members also encouraged young creators to seize the opportunity, emphasising passion, authenticity and bold storytelling. Entries are open nationwide, with submission details available on Zee’s official platforms.
