YouTube Surpasses $60 Billion in Revenue, Emerging as the World’s Largest Media Platform

YouTube has cemented its position as one of the most powerful forces in global media, crossing $60 billion in annual revenue in 2025. Financial disclosures from its parent company, Alphabet, reveal that the video platform generated over $60 billion last year, with research firm Moffett Nathanson estimating the total closer to $62 billion.

This milestone places YouTube ahead of the media operations of The Walt Disney Company, whose media segment generated around $60.9 billion in the same period when excluding its theme parks and experiences business. Analysts now estimate YouTube’s overall valuation to be between $500 billion and $560 billion, underscoring its growing influence in the entertainment ecosystem.

Advertising continues to remain YouTube’s largest revenue driver. The platform reported $11.4 billion in advertising revenue in the fourth quarter alone, pushing its annual advertising income to more than $40 billion.

Alongside advertising, YouTube’s subscription ecosystem has become an increasingly important pillar of growth. The company operates several paid services, including YouTube Premium, YouTube Music, YouTube TV and the NFL Sunday Ticket package. YouTube TV alone has approximately 10 million subscribers, with analysts predicting it could eventually surpass traditional pay-TV providers in scale.

Another key factor behind YouTube’s expansion is its creator economy. The platform has paid more than $100 billion to creators, music labels and media partners over the years, highlighting the economic impact of its creator-driven model.

With continued growth in advertising, subscriptions and AI-powered creator tools, YouTube is expected to further strengthen its dominance in the global media landscape.
