Three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have revealed their new jersey for the TATA IPL 2026 season, introducing a rich purple and shimmering gold kit inspired by the theme “Lines of Legacy.”

The jersey design pays tribute to some of the franchise’s most memorable moments over the years, transforming them into a visual narrative woven into the fabric of the kit. Among the milestones referenced are Brendon McCullum’s historic 158-run innings on the opening night of the IPL in 2008 and Rinku Singh’s dramatic five consecutive sixes in the final over, both of which have become defining moments in IPL history.

Each of these iconic events represents a symbolic “line” in the franchise’s story. When combined, these lines form the initials K-K-R through abstract linear art. This creative concept has been integrated directly into the jersey design, allowing fans to wear a representation of the team’s legacy on the field and in the stands.

Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Sports, said the campaign reflects the franchise’s journey and the spirit that has shaped KKR over the years. According to him, each line in the design symbolises a moment of brilliance that contributes to the team’s identity and legacy.

To amplify the launch, the franchise rolled out a social media-led campaign titled “Kya Line Hai?” The campaign includes a digital film featuring actor Rajat Bedi, comedian Anirban Dasgupta and several Kolkata-based creators, blending humour and pop culture to bring the jersey story to life.

The digital build-up generated strong fan engagement, with the hashtag #LinesOfLegacy trending across social media platforms for nearly 48 hours ahead of the jersey reveal, reflecting excitement among KKR supporters ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
