Harlequin has partnered with Dashverse in a multi-year collaboration to transform classic romance novels into animated, mobile-first microdrama series. The deal includes a 40-title slate, reimagining Harlequin’s iconic love stories into short, serialized formats designed for today’s fast-scrolling, short-form content audience.
The rollout begins in April with A Fairy-Tail Ending by Catherine Mann, marking the first adaptation in a series aimed at global viewers. These microdramas will be released in English across platforms, including Dashverse’s DashReels, targeting audiences who prefer quick, engaging storytelling on the go.
At the core of this partnership is Dashverse’s AI-powered production engine, Frameo. The system enables rapid creation of high-quality animated content by combining machine efficiency with human creativity. Illustrators collaborate closely with the platform to ensure that while the format evolves, the emotional depth and essence of romance storytelling remain intact.
The move reflects a larger shift toward format-first storytelling, where how a story is consumed is just as important as the story itself. With audiences increasingly drawn to snackable, episodic content, this partnership taps into the growing demand for short-form narratives without compromising on storytelling quality.
Upcoming adaptations include titles like Forbidden Fiji Nights with Her Rival, Newlywed Enemies, The King’s Pregnancy Proposition, and Mistletoe Baby Mix-Up. Together, Harlequin and Dashverse are not just adapting stories-they’re reshaping how romance is experienced in the digital age.
