Flipkart Group has partnered with Meta to launch a new affiliate programme that enables creators to monetise their content by promoting products from Flipkart and Myntra directly through Facebook posts and Reels.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between social media discovery and online shopping, allowing users to click on tagged products within creator content and complete purchases seamlessly on Flipkart or Myntra. Creators, in turn, will earn commissions on sales generated through their recommendations.
The programme will initially roll out on Facebook, with plans to expand to Instagram in the future. It is open to creators of all sizes, including nano and micro influencers, reflecting the growing influence of niche content creators in shaping consumer purchase decisions.
The move comes as social commerce continues to gain momentum in India, particularly among younger consumers. According to Flipkart, Gen Z shoppers now account for a significant share of the country’s e-commerce growth, with social media increasingly becoming the starting point for product discovery across categories such as fashion, beauty, gadgets, and lifestyle.
Through the programme, creators will be able to browse affiliate products, tag them in content, and track performance and earnings through a dedicated dashboard. Brands and sellers will also benefit from a new avenue to reach potential customers through authentic creator-led recommendations, while retaining control over product selection and commission structures.
The partnership builds on Flipkart’s ongoing investments in the creator economy through initiatives such as Creatorhood and Affluencer. By combining Meta’s content discovery ecosystem with Flipkart’s commerce infrastructure, the collaboration seeks to unlock new revenue opportunities for creators while making online shopping more engaging and personalised for consumers.
