News18 India has unveiled a revamped primetime schedule, bringing together a mix of familiar anchors and returning faces across a lineup that spans geopolitics, political debate, field reporting, explanatory journalism and current affairs.
The new schedule kicks off at 3:45 pm with ‘Command Centre’, hosted by Major Gaurav Arya, setting a geopolitical tone for the evening. Arpita Arya follows at 4:50 pm with ‘Goonj’ – her return to the channel is among the more notable elements of the refresh. Prateek Trivedi’s ‘Bhaiyaji Kahin’ rounds out the early evening at 5:50 pm.
The primetime band intensifies from 6:50 pm, with Amish Devgan leading ‘Aar Paar’, followed by Kishore Ajwani’s long-running ‘Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat’ at 7:50 pm. Sushant Sinha anchors ‘Desh Ki Pathshala’ at 8:50 pm, bringing an explanatory journalism format to the slot. Aman Chopra closes the night at 10 pm with ‘Desh Nahi Jhukne Denge’, a programme that has built a steady audience around its nationalist current affairs positioning.
The network has structured the lineup to offer differentiated editorial formats across the viewing window – moving between hard news, debate, field-driven storytelling and issue explainers rather than stacking similar formats back to back.
For a Hindi news channel navigating an increasingly competitive primetime landscape, the strategy reflects a deliberate attempt to hold viewers across the full evening rather than peak around a single marquee show.
