Bodhi Tree Multimedia has secured a mandate from the Government of Assam to develop, launch, and manage the state’s official digital content platform, expanding the media company’s footprint into long-term platform infrastructure.
The platform is designed to be a dedicated digital home for Assam’s cultural and creative economy, featuring regional entertainment, heritage content, films, music, live events, and creator-led programming. It will be built to run across mobile, web, and connected TV.
As part of the mandate, Bodhi Tree Multimedia will handle the platform’s development, content strategy, subscription management, monetisation, and overall operations. The build is being executed in partnership with Mogi OTT, with Google Cloud serving as the underlying infrastructure.
Mautik Tolia, Managing Director and CEO of Bodhi Tree Multimedia, said the mandate reflects how media companies are increasingly taking on the role of digital ecosystem builders, beyond traditional content creation. He pointed to the growing convergence of storytelling, technology, and distribution infrastructure as the direction the sector is moving in, adding that Assam’s vision for a dedicated platform for its cultural and creative economy aligns well with this shift. He also noted that the project gives Bodhi Tree a new long-term platform management capability, while creating a model that could be replicated across other regions in the future.
The platform is currently in an advanced stage of development, with work focused on branding, content onboarding, and broader ecosystem building ahead of launch.
