Kerala: Wipro Brahmins, the foods brand under Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, has expanded its staples portfolio with the launch of a new Brahmins Millets Range, catering to the growing demand for healthier everyday food options.
The new range features six millet varieties-Foxtail, Little, Browntop, Barnyard, Kodo and Proso-sourced from key millet-producing regions across India. With the launch, the brand aims to make nutrient-rich grains more accessible while addressing one of the biggest challenges associated with millet consumption: taste.
To improve the eating experience, Brahmins has developed a proprietary roasting process that enhances the grains’ natural flavour while reducing their characteristic bitterness. The company says the process makes millets better suited for everyday cooking without compromising their nutritional value.
Naturally gluten-free and rich in fibre and protein, the millet range also has a relatively low glycaemic index. The products can be used in a variety of traditional dishes, including biryani, upma, curd rice, payasam, porridges and other home-style recipes.
Commenting on the launch, Anil Chugh, President – Wipro Foods, said the company is focused on offering products that combine taste with nutrition. He added that the new range reflects changing consumer preferences while supporting healthier eating habits through familiar Indian foods.
Sunny Thomas, Business Head – Brahmins & Nirapara, Wipro Foods, said the launch aligns with the company’s strategy of building future-ready food portfolios that deliver quality, convenience and authenticity for modern consumers.
The Brahmins Millets Range is available in 500g packs priced at ₹149, featuring three-layer packaging with a shelf life of up to 365 days. Initially launched across Karnataka and Kerala, the products will be sold through traditional retail outlets and Swiggy Instamart, with plans to expand to additional e-commerce platforms and more markets across India.
