Green Gold Animation, in partnership with EBG Group, has opened the first Chhota Bheem Cafe in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, taking the animated franchise off-screen and into a physical dining-and-play space built around Bheem, Chutki, Raju, Jaggu and the rest of the gang.
The menu leans into the “more than food” pitch – millet-based pizzas and burgers, themed desserts, and Power Laddoos sit alongside options for both kids and adults. There’s also a Bento Box subscription for school-going children, delivering breakfast and lunch through offline channels and the cafe itself, plus a Junior Chef Quest cooking programme and a membership tier offering workshops and rewards.
Dr Irfan Khan, founder and chairman, EBG Group, said the idea was to combine “healthy food, play, learning and shared family experiences in one place,” calling it an opportunity to build a homegrown Indian family entertainment brand around characters kids have grown up with.
Rajiv Chilaka, founder and CEO, Green Gold Animation, said the cafe gives Chhota Bheem – nearly two decades into people’s homes – “an address,” and described it as the first step toward taking the studio’s characters “beyond animation and into everyday life.”
The companies plan to open 25 outlets in phase one, backed by a Rs 50 crore investment, starting with company-owned stores in Tier-I cities before shifting to franchising. The target: 50 outlets in three years, generating over 500 direct and indirect jobs, with future locations adding workshops, storytelling sessions and mascot meet-and-greets.
