Marking its 20th anniversary, Bigg Boss is entering its biggest season yet, with JioStar launching six regional editions simultaneously for the first time. The reality franchise will return in Hindi (hosted by Salman Khan), Tamil(Vijay Sethupathi), Telugu (Nagarjuna), Kannada (Kichcha Sudeep), Malayalam (Mohanlal) and Bangla (Sourav Ganguly) during the festive season, significantly expanding its reach across India.
The announcement was made alongside the launch of India’s Bigg Reality, a coffee table book documenting the franchise’s two-decade journey through audience trends, engagement data and advertiser insights.
Since its Hindi debut in 2006, Bigg Boss has transformed from a television-first reality show into a multi-platform entertainment property. According to JioStar, the franchise reached more than 500 million viewers across six language editions in 2025, generating over 438 billion viewing minutes. On JioHotstar, more than 60% of viewers watched the 24×7 live feed, while audiences collectively cast 9.32 billion votes and generated 43 million live chats, reflecting growing participation beyond traditional TV viewing.
Speaking at a media interaction, Mahesh Shetty, Head – Entertainment Sales and TV, JioStar, said, “Consumers follow content on the medium that is most convenient for them. As long as the content brand remains relevant, it can travel across television, digital and social platforms. In today’s world of infinite scrolling and shrinking attention spans, brands aren’t just buying reach; they’re buying business outcomes.”
Explaining the strategy behind launching all six editions together, Bhaskar Ramesh, Head – Entertainment Sales and Digital, JioStar, said, “Television continues to provide mass reach, while digital extends engagement. Good content naturally travels across screens. Someone watching Bigg Boss Hindi isn’t necessarily watching Bigg Boss Tamil, and advertisers have different objectives across regions. The percentage of new-age brands embracing this kind of content property is only going to increase.”
JioStar believes the simultaneous rollout will create greater opportunities for both national and regional advertisers by enabling market-specific campaigns while leveraging the franchise’s massive scale. In 2025, more than 625 brands across 46 categories, including several first-time advertisers, partnered with Bigg Boss for product launches and integrated brand experiences.
Despite rising competition in the reality entertainment space, JioStar remains confident that Bigg Boss’ legacy, cultural relevance and ability to evolve across television and digital platforms will continue to make it one of India’s most influential entertainment franchises.
