Flipkart Minutes Bets on Gourmet with New Private Label ‘Pykd’

Walmart-owned Flipkart’s quick commerce arm, Flipkart Minutes, is stepping into the premium grocery and specialty food space with a new private label, Pykd, according to sources cited by Inc42.

Pykd will give Minutes its own line of premium products, while Flipkart also plans to onboard third-party gourmet brands to widen its offerings. The label is set to be piloted first in Bengaluru. Inc42 has reached out to Flipkart for comment, and the story will be updated accordingly. Moneycontrol first reported the development.

Beyond staples like cheese, coffee, noodles, kombucha, ramen, ghee, and oils, Pykd will also stock namkeen and chips, positioning itself as a broad gourmet destination rather than a niche category play.

The move comes as Flipkart continues scaling its quick commerce backbone, having launched 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres for Minutes across 130 cities, covering over 8,000 pincodes. The company is targeting an expansion to 1,500 centres across 180 cities in the coming months.

This push into premium grocery reflects a broader industry shift, with rivals Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart already running their own gourmet private labels, Gourmet, Select, and Noice respectively. Newer entrants like FirstClub have also gained traction, recently raising $55 Mn in a Series B round.

As Sauce.vc partner Yash Dholakia has noted, quick commerce has evolved into a preferred channel for affluent consumers, built around curated, high-quality assortments. With the food and grocery ecommerce category projected to grow at a 28% CAGR between 2026 and 2031, per Inc42 Datalabs, premium play is fast becoming the next competitive battleground.
