Google Gemini Turns KBC Into an Interactive Second-Screen Experience

Google’s Gemini has rolled out four interactive features around Kaun Banega Crorepati, letting viewers engage with the show beyond the television broadcast, according to a blog post shared by Google. The features include an on-screen trivia segment, a Gemini-powered lifeline called Sanket Suchak, a daily game called Sanket Sawaal, and an interactive KBC quiz.

As part of the trivia segment, Amitabh Bachchan will pose a trivia question to Gemini during select episodes, with a QR code appearing on screen that lets viewers pull up the answer through the Gemini app. Viewers can also use Gemini to explore other questions that come up while watching.

The Sanket Suchak lifeline uses Gemini to offer contestants hints for working through difficult questions, with the feature also built for viewers playing along from home.

Through Sanket Sawaal, viewers can answer a daily question with Gemini-assisted hints, and top participants stand a chance to attend a KBC episode as part of the live studio audience.

The interactive KBC quiz lets viewers launch a 16-question quiz through the Gemini app by prompting “Start the @KBC quiz,” with the format also allowing users to ask follow-up questions on topics covered during the quiz.

The integration marks one of Google’s more expansive AI-led collaborations with Indian television, extending Gemini’s presence beyond search and productivity use cases into live entertainment and audience engagement, as brands and platforms increasingly explore AI-assisted, second-screen viewing experiences tied to popular TV formats.
