Schneider Electric Turned a Humble Switch into Bappa’s Blessing

Schneider Electric has turned its electrical switches into a landmark Ganpati installation in Pune, kicking off a season-long festive campaign. The initiative brings a fresh dimension to festive outdoor advertising in India by reimagining a familiar household product as a cultural symbol.

At its heart is Ganpati’s blessing hand, inspired by the brand’s switches and recreating the familiar abhaya mudra. The installation carries the line “Nirantar, Nirvighna Raha”, linking the visual to Schneider Electric Home Solutions and the idea of staying powered and uninterrupted. A campaign film captures how an everyday switch becomes an unexpected expression of festive blessing.

The activation is part of a larger consumer journey. The festive season is when people renovate their homes, upgrade and make considered purchases across appliances, electronics and smartphones. Schneider Electric aims to reach these in-market audiences at the point of consideration, helping them discover its Home Solutions portfolio and fold electrical and home automation solutions into their upgrade plans. Beyond OOH awareness, digital touchpoints will help interested consumers move from inspiration to consideration.

Ratnesh Pandey, Vice President, Marketing at Schneider Electric India, said festivals are moments of deep emotional connection, and the brand wanted to feel native to the moment rather than layered on top. He added that the aim is to make Home Solutions a natural part of festive purchase journeys. The Ganpati installation is the first in a series of festive expressions, each keeping the switch as the constant. It also builds on the brand’s Advancing Energy Tech philosophy, seen in Unica X.
