boAt has rolled out a new film under its ‘Upgrade to boAt’ campaign, borrowing one of cinema’s most debated moments to show what conversational AI can do in everyday life. The film takes a playful look at a question audiences have asked for years: could both Jack and Rose have fit on the plank?
The spotlight is on Crest AI, boAt’s AI-powered smart audio experience built with Google Gemini. The film opens as a parody of the iconic Titanic scene, with two characters stranded on a wooden plank in the middle of the ocean. Instead of leaving the debate to film buffs, one of them simply asks Crest AI whether both can fit.
The assistant responds with three practical solutions: taking turns in the water, distributing their weight evenly to maintain balance, or holding on to each other to minimise the number of limbs in the water. The answers are quick and conversational, showing how the assistant can handle a real question in the moment.
Then comes the twist. As the characters weigh their options, Crest AI unexpectedly asks, “Wait, are you a Leo?” The scene ends on this humorous note, adding personality to what could have been a purely functional reply.
By building on a pop-culture moment viewers already know, boAt makes the technology feel approachable rather than technical, pairing useful answers with a light, relatable punchline.
