Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) raised its advertising and publicity expenditure by 2.2% year-on-year to Rs 327.05 crore in the second quarter of FY27, from Rs 319.95 crore a year ago. The spend accounted for around 7.4% of revenue. For the first half of FY27, ad spends stood at Rs 632.87 crore, up from Rs 591.78 crore in the same period last year.
The modest rise came as consolidated revenue from operations grew 19% to Rs 4,413.09 crore, against Rs 3,708.19 crore in Q2 FY26. GCPL said it was optimising media and trade investments amid inflationary pressure on crude-linked derivatives, palm oil and other commodity inputs. It has also increased the share of digital investments, which it believes deliver higher returns.
Aasif Malbari, managing director and CEO, GCPL, said the company had taken stringent pricing actions alongside a large cost-saving programme and media and trade optimisation, while keeping its share of voice range bound. He added that the salience of digital investments had risen because of their higher ROI.
On the financial front, consolidated net profit rose 13.8% to Rs 522.92 crore from Rs 459.34 crore, while EBITDA grew 12% to Rs 820 crore. The standalone business grew sales 13%, backed by 7% underlying volume growth. Home Care rose 19% in value, led by air fresheners and home care liquids, while Personal Care grew 8%.
