Asian Paints has launched a new Diwali campaign, ‘Taiyyari Shuru, Tyohaar Shuru’, that shifts the spotlight from the festival itself to the build-up that comes before it. Conceptualised by Ogilvy, the campaign is anchored by a musical ad film that brings together the cleaning, decorating and painting routines that define Diwali in Indian homes.
The film shows families, friends and relatives coming together to get their homes festival-ready. Set to a foot-tapping tune, it turns everyday chores into moments of celebration, with Asian Paints positioned as a natural part of giving a home a fresh look. The campaign presents home makeovers as an essential piece of the festive experience, not just a task to tick off before the festival begins.
Amit Syngle, CEO and Managing Director, Asian Paints, said Diwali is an emotion that starts building well before the celebrations officially begin. He added that the brand wanted to celebrate this build-up, where shared tasks, conversations and moments of joy bring loved ones together, and where giving the home a new look becomes part of the festive journey.
Sukesh Nayak, Group Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy India, described Diwali as a whole season of festivity rather than a few days. He said the chaos of preparations has a rhythm of its own, which the team set out to capture in a musical that is warm, foot-tapping and completely familiar.
