Airtel Business Launches ‘Business Name Display’ to Enhance Enterprise Communication

Airtel Business has introduced the ‘Business Name Display’ (BND) service, allowing enterprises to showcase their brand name on recipients’ mobile screens during outgoing calls. This initiative aims to foster trust and help customers differentiate legitimate business calls from spam.

The launch aligns with the Department of Telecommunications’ (DoT) directive for telecom operators to implement the Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) service to curb spam and scam calls. While CNAP trials are ongoing, Airtel’s BND service offers a proactive solution for enterprises to enhance customer engagement.

Airtel’s BND service was piloted with over 250 businesses across sectors including banking, retail, food delivery, mobility, quick commerce, and logistics. These businesses utilized more than 1.5 million phone numbers, making approximately 12.8 million calls in the last 30 days, resulting in a significant increase in customer engagement.

Sharat Sinha, CEO of Airtel Business, emphasized the importance of building trust and enhancing customer experience through transparent communication. The BND service addresses the challenge of important business calls being mistakenly flagged as spam, ensuring that customers receive critical information from trusted sources.

As the first telecom operator to implement this solution, Airtel Business is setting a new standard for enterprise communication, combining technology and trust to improve customer interactions.
