Entrepreneur and content creator Ankur Warikoo has sparked a wave of appreciation online after publicly sharing details about the compensation and benefits he offers his long-time driver – a reveal many users hailed as an example of respectful employee treatment.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Warikoo disclosed that his driver, Dayanand Bhaiya, now earns ₹53,350 per month following an annual 11% increment. Dayanand, who joined the family 13 years ago at a salary of ₹15,000, also receives health insurance, a one-month Diwali bonus and, this year, a new scooty. Warikoo emphasised that Dayanand is considered “family,” trusted with house keys, important errands, and even the family’s ATM PIN – responsibilities that reflect deep trust built over more than a decade.
Warikoo highlighted that Dayanand’s overall compensation crosses ₹6 lakh a year, surpassing many entry-level salaries in India. He described him not merely as a driver but as a reliable partner who significantly eases the family’s daily load, from managing schedules to ensuring the children reach their classes on time. “He has been one of the best uses of our money,” Warikoo wrote, adding that he hopes Dayanand’s salary touches ₹1 lakh per month within the next 5–6 years. He also reiterated that the 11% annual increment remains fixed.
The post quickly gained momentum, drawing admiration from users who applauded the transparency and the emphasis on dignity and fair compensation. Many commenters noted that Warikoo’s approach sets an example for others, particularly praising the inclusion of insurance benefits. One user wrote, “This is exactly how staff should be treated – with respect, trust and opportunity for growth.”
