Chinese Wok enters fries segment with bold Schezwan Fries launch

Chinese Wok has expanded its menu by introducing a new fries range across its outlets, marking the brand’s entry into the French fries category. The launch includes three variants-Schezwan Fries, Classic Salted Fries and Cheese Fries-with Schezwan Fries positioned as the hero product.

The new offering blends the brand’s signature Desi Chinese flavours with the popular fries format. Schezwan Fries combine the bold taste of Chinese Wok’s well-known Schezwan seasoning with crispy fries, creating a snack that aligns with the brand’s flavour-forward identity.

To enhance the snacking experience, the fries are served in a distinctive Shake-Shake Bag format. Customers can add seasoning to the fries and shake the bag before eating, making the product interactive and fun. In a unique twist that reflects the brand’s Chinese-inspired theme, Schezwan Fries will also be served with chopsticks, available for both dine-in and delivery orders.

The launch is designed to strengthen Chinese Wok’s presence in the snacking category while catering to casual dining and delivery occasions. By introducing fries, the brand aims to expand its menu beyond traditional meal options and tap into quick snack cravings among younger consumers.

Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, founder and director of Lenexis Foodworks, said the move reflects the brand’s vision of extending its signature flavours into new snack formats. He added that the product builds on Chinese Wok’s strong association with Desi Chinese cuisine while introducing a fresh snacking experience.

Vikas Iyer, marketing head at Lenexis Foodworks, noted that fries have become a popular cultural snack among Gen Z and millennials. The launch will be supported by a digital campaign, influencer collaborations and online promotions to drive awareness and trial.
