India’s cricket governing body is poised to examine recent governmental guidelines prohibiting tobacco, alcohol, and cryptocurrency endorsements in an upcoming executive meeting. The conference will take place in eastern India prior to the season-opening contest of the premier cricket league’s 2025 edition.
The nation’s health authorities instructed the cricket administration earlier this month to eliminate all forms of tobacco and alcohol marketing activities, including indirect promotional strategies, during the forthcoming tournament scheduled to begin on March 22.
The executive committee’s agenda explicitly references sponsorship regulations, with item number 9 highlighting: “Deliberation on partnerships with tobacco and digital currency enterprises.”
The cricket organization will simultaneously establish the administrative panel for the women’s international tournament and finalize locations for the global championship they’ll be hosting in the latter part of this calendar year.
