Hyundai Motor India has stepped into the micro-drama space, partnering with storytelling platform Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT) for its first festive digital series. Titled “Diwali Chori Ho Gayi!”, the six-part series is built for social-first platforms like Instagram and YouTube Shorts, where short, bingeable storytelling already commands attention.
The plot follows the fictional Anand family, who wake up on Diwali morning to find their festive preparations mysteriously missing. As they travel across the city to track down their belongings, every clue reconnects them with forgotten rituals, cherished memories and old disagreements. The story turns a festive mishap into an emotional journey about family and togetherness.
Notably, the series steers clear of specifications and traditional advertising. Hyundai’s vehicles are woven organically into the narrative. The Creta accompanies the family on their city-wide search, while a vintage Santro becomes a nostalgic bridge to their shared history, letting the brand feel like part of the family rather than an interruption.
The move reflects a clear audience shift. According to Hyundai, the average age of its car buyers has dropped from 43 years in 2018 to 38 years in 2026. For a younger, mobile-first cohort that moves beyond brand pages, bite-sized episodic entertainment offers a more natural way to connect, making micro-dramas a strategic bet rather than a passing experiment.
